Pinliang Dong gives invited lecture on LiDAR applications at the Chinese Academy of Sciences

Dr. Pinliang Dong recently delivered an invited talk entitled "LiDAR Data for Characterizing Tectonic Landforms and Coseismic Deformation: A Review" at the 91st Forum for Earth Observation and Digital Earth. The forum was held at the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In his talk, Dong reviewed several applications of LiDAR for revealing geomorphic markers of tectonic geomorphology. He presented case studies from North America, Asia, and Europe. Using four examples from Japan, Mexico, and New Zealand, he also introduced applications and challenges of LiDAR data for coseismic deformation studies. Dr. Dong has been a Guest Research Professor of RADI since 2010.
