Dr. Williams is a geomorphologist with a geographic focus on the DFW region, the Gulf of Mexico and Southeast Asia.
Research interests include coastal geomorphology, hurricane storm surge sedimentation, coastal marsh sedimentation, paleotempestology (study of ancient storms), tropical cyclone/climate change interactions.
Dr. Williams also investigates urban geomorphology, for example expansive soil hazards, sediment runoff from construction sites, impact of urbanization on hydrology and stream flow, constructed slope failure.
