At UNT Geography, we recognize that our world is increasingly globalized and environmentally connected, creating a new suite of challenges for humankind. Our highly diverse and interdisciplinary faculty provides expertise in physical geography, human geography, environmental archaeology, and Geographic Information Science (GISc) and remote sensing.

We are located in the City of Denton, just north of the DFW Metroplex, one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S, at the transition between the Cross Timbers and Prairies ecoregions. This environment offers a unique opportunity for students to become involved in a variety of relevant research projects. Several faculty members conduct research in Latin America, Africa, and Asia as well.

Denton is a unique and culturally vibrant college town that offers an economically accessible graduate lifestyle, the best of small town life and the amenities of two neighboring world-class cities.
