Amy Hoffman (PhD Candidate in Environmental Science), Christy Winstead, and Laura Ellyson (Master's students in Geography) recently received the Barbara Lawrence Award for best graduate paper at the 2013 Society of Ethnobiology Conference. Their collaborative research paper "Local Dietary Trends and Inter-site Connections in the Ancestral Pueblo Goodman Point Community, Southwestern Colorado" examines spatiotemporal variability of faunal remains within a small local community. Their results indicate a decreasing reliance on domesticated resources and an increasing diet breadth at the end of the Ancestral Puebloan people's occupation within the community, mirroring results found within the larger San Juan (Four Corners) region.
