Dr. Williams was invited by the Korean Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) to spend May 14-22 in Daejeon South Korea to give a series of presentations on his hurricane research and visit field sites of ongoing paleotempestology (study of ancient storms) research studies. Dr. Williams hopes to return to Korea soon to conduct collaborative paleotempestology studies with KIGAM researchers. Dr. Williams' long-term goal is to establish a network of research sites around the western North Pacific to study relationships between climate change and tropical cyclone activity.
