Geography graduate student Richard Kirk has published a book review in the journal Human Geography. In examining Harvey's Anti-Capitalist Chronicles, Kirk states that "Harvey offers two high potential fronts: issues of social inequality, and climate change/issues of environmental degradation, both of which, he argues, emerge as products of capitalism's contradictory nature…..This book is not revolutionary in the sense that it contains novel theoretical breakthroughs; certainly, Harvey is reiterating previous work. But he is taking time to summarily articulate a basis for socialist action in the here and now. It is a revolutionary's guidebook, a radical diagnosis of malignant capitalism, and a radical prescription for its treatment. Radical geography is radical because we recognize the contrived nature of socio-spatial structures and want to change them to the advantage of the disadvantaged, to create a more just and equal society."
