ARCH 2500: Introduction to Archaeology

This course serves as an introduction to the basic theories, methods, and techniques used in archaeology.  We examine what archaeology is, and how and why archaeologists do archaeology.
At the end of the course, students will
    • be able to evaluate media presentations of archaeological research, and 
    • develop an appreciation for the importance of cultural resource preservation.

This course is a requirement for the Anthropology major and a minor in Archaeology.
