Notes from the Instructor

The following links contain selected student projects from the courses of Intermediate GIS (GEOG 4520/5520) and Advanced GIS (GEOG 4550/5550).  They cover a wide range of applications in both environmental and socioeconomic aspects of geography and demonstrate the level of the expectation of these courses.  Although they are by no means the best student projects in GIS education, and even some of them contain errors and mistakes, the authors of these papers have shown a significant endeavor to develop solid understanding of GIS concepts and mastery of GIS skills.  Hopefully, this page may provide a reference to the prospect students of these GIS courses and set a baseline for the future instructors of these courses.
