TGI Friday Seminar: Fixing the 'No-Win' Waterscape: The Challenge of Drinking Water Provision in Texas

TGI Friday Seminar: Fixing the 'No-Win' Waterscape: The Challenge of Drinking Water Provision in Texas

Who: Dr. Wendy Jepson, Department of Geography, Texas A&M University

When: Friday, September 25th, 3-4 PM

Where: EESAT 130

Why? Water is critical for life and sustenance. Yet, in low-income rural and peri-urban Mexican-American neighborhoods (colonias) along the Texas-Mexico border, the country's poorest communities face ad-hoc water delivery and inadequate potable water, which threaten environmental well-being and erode prospects for a healthy life.

Dr. Wendy Jepson joins us to examine environmental justice, household water security, and water governance in low-income Texas communities.
